Bhrigu Lake is a stunning, high-altitude alpine lake located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Situated at an elevation of approximately 14,100 feet (4,300 meters), it is one of the most popular short trekking destinations in the Manali region.
Tour Itinerary
- Day 1: Manali to Gulaba to Rola Kholi
Drive: 24 km from Manali to Gulaba (approx. 1 hour).
Trek: 6 km from Gulaba to Rola Kholi base camp (approx. 4 hours).
Altitude: Starts at 6,750 ft (Manali) and ascends to 12,500 ft (Rola Kholi).
Highlights: A steep ascent through dense forests of oak and cedar that opens up into the sprawling green meadows of Gulaba
- Day 2: Rola Kholi to Bhrigu Lake and Back
Trek: 10 km round trip (approx. 7–8 hours).
Altitude: 12,500 ft to 14,100 ft and back.
Highlights: Starting early, you’ll traverse rolling alpine meadows and rocky ridges to reach the stunning, high-altitude Bhrigu Lake. After taking in the views, you will descend back to the Rola Kholi campsite
- Day 3: Rola Kholi to Gulaba & Return to Manali
Trek: 6 km descent from Rola Kholi to Gulaba (approx. 3–4 hours).
Drive: 21 km from Gulaba to Manali (1–2 hours).
Highlights: The descent is much faster but steep, putting some pressure on the knees. You’ll reach Manali by the late afternoon, concluding your trek.
