The Triund Trek is one of the most popular and beautiful short treks in India, located near Mcleod Ganj (Dharamshala) in Himachal Pradesh. It acts as a tranquil escape into the mountains and is widely considered the perfect beginner's trek.
Tour Itinerary
- Day 01: Base to Triund Top (The Climb)
Start Point: Dharamkot or Gallu Devi Temple (approx. 2 km above McLeod Ganj)
Distance: 7 to 9 km.
Duration: 4 to 6 hours.
Morning: Reach Dharamkot by foot or local cab. Complete the mandatory registration checkpoint at the Gallu Devi Temple.
Mid-way: Trek through beautiful rhododendron, oak, and deodar forests. Take a pitstop at the historic Magic View Café for tea and snacks.
Late Afternoon: Conquer the steep final stretch, known locally as the “22 curves”. Reach Triund Top to witness a striking 180-degree sunset over the Dhauladhar Range.
Night: Check into your pre-booked alpine tents, enjoy a basic hot dinner, and stargaze.
- Day 02: Golden Sunrise & Descent
Duration: 3 hours (descent).
Early Morning: Wake up by 6:00 AM to catch the sunrise lighting up the snow-capped mountain peaks.
Breakfast: Enjoy a simple breakfast of Maggi, parathas, or eggs at the ridge cafés.
Late Morning: Begin hiking back down the same trail.
Afternoon: You can take a small detour toward the Bhagsu Nag Waterfall and stop at Shiva Café. Arrive back in McLeod Ganj by 2:00 PM to explore local Tibetan markets before heading home
