Package Cost Starts From ₹5499 Per Person

The Indrahar Pass Trek is a classic and moderately challenging trekking route located in the Dhauladhar range of the Indian Himalayas, starting near McLeod Ganj (Dharamshala) in Himachal Pradesh.

Tour Itinerary

Distance: 9 km

Time: 5–6 hours

Path: Gradual to steep ascent.

Experience: You start your journey from McLeod Ganj or the Galu Devi Temple. The trail leads you through dense, beautiful forests of oak, deodar, and rhododendron trees. As you hit the final stretch, the incline increases before opening up into the vast ridge meadow of Triund. You will camp overnight under a starry sky looking out at the glittering lights of the Kangra Valley.

Distance: 6–7 km

Time: 4–5 hours

Path: Moderate rocky terrain.

Experience: Wake up to an iconic sunrise hitting the Dhauladhar wall. Leaving Triund, the route climbs up a ridge toward the Snowline Café, a famous pitstop for trekkers. From here, the tree line drops away completely, replaced by open alpine landscapes and boulder fields. You will establish your base camp at Laka Got (also called Ilaqua Got), a flat pasture positioned at the base of the massive mountain wall.

Distance: 12–14 km

Time: 8–10 hours

Path: Steep, technical boulder maneuvering or snow climbing.

Experience: This is the ultimate summit push. Guides usually recommend a midnight or 3:00 AM start to avoid deteriorating afternoon mountain weather. You will scramble past the natural shelter of Lahesh Cave and negotiate steep, tiered bounds of striated rocks. Reaching the pass rewards you with an astonishing 360-degree panorama of the Pir Panjal range and Mani Mahesh Kailash peak. Take in the views, receive blessings at the small cliffside temple, and carefully retrace your steps down to Laka Got

Distance: 15 km

Time: 6–7 hours

Path: Continuous descent.

Experience: After a late breakfast, pack up your camp and start descending. You will pass through Snowline and Triund once again, tracing the familiar paths downhill. The continuous downhill can put strain on your knees, so trekking poles are highly recommended. You will arrive back at McLeod Ganj by late afternoon, concluding your trek.
